01 / A controlled release
Only bending changes.
Each 0.96 × 0.64 m sheet has 117 vertices and 192 triangles. Two columns are fixed. Every free vertex has mass 0.01 kg; gravity is 9.81 m/s². All three start at rest.
No collisions, self-contact or learned policy. The dashed outline shows the initial sheet.
02 / Measured deformation
The motion stays inspectable.
RMS separation compares all 117 corresponding vertices at the same sample. Free-edge drop is the mean vertical displacement of its nine vertices from their initial height.
These finite-step diagnostics describe this experiment; they are not a validation against real fabric.
03 / From solver to scene
Edit it in Blender.
The USD stores original mesh points and velocities at every sample. Set Blender to 30 fps, then import. Frame 1 is the untouched initial state. Native readback checks the deformation.
